I want to thank my boss/friend Adam for showing me this book. It piqued my interest b/c I am always sort of dying to find a good daily devotional book. Something that will help me really get into the Bible in the 15 to 20 minutes I have on any given day.
So anyway, I got this devotional guide b/c it is looked "meaty" to me. (Some daily devotionals are kind of flowery, if you know what I mean, and that's not what I'm looking for.)
An Uncommon Devotional
It revolves around lectio divina, an ancient approach to exploring Scripture that is designed to help us engage in the Word and not just read it. Each daily segment has a Bible reading, and a THINK, PRAY, and LIVE part. The result, at least for me, is contemplative time in the Word.
